    Good morning all!

I recently joined the Western Regional group and was wondering if there any upcoming industry conferences or networking events in our region that you would recommend? I'm looking to connect with other professionals and explore new collaborations.

    Thanks!

    Hi @Emily Allen!

Absolutely! There's the Regional Conference and Meetup happening next month in Portland, which is a great event for networking and learning about the latest trends in our industry. It attracts a lot of professionals and thought leaders from the West Coast. Additionally, there's a local meetup group called The Western Regioneers that holds regular events and is a good way to connect with people in a more informal setting. If you're interested, I can send you more details or help with registration!

    Looking forward to meeting you!

I agree with what everyone has mentioned!

Additionally, here are a few items that really helped me get started when I joined the region.

    • Introduction and Orientation:

      • Attend New Member Orientation: If offered, participate in an orientation session to understand the group's goals, structure, and key contacts.
      • Introduce Yourself: Share your background, interests, and what you hope to gain from the group, either in person or through a group communication platform.
    • Familiarize Yourself with the Group:

      • Review the Group's Mission and Values: Understand the core objectives and values of the group to align your activities accordingly.
      • Read Recent Updates: Go through recent newsletters, meeting minutes, or communications to get up-to-date on current initiatives and discussions.
    • Get Involved:

      • Join Committees or Working Groups: If the group has various committees or sub-groups, consider joining one that aligns with your interests or expertise.
      • Volunteer for Events: Offer to help with upcoming events or activities to meet other members and gain hands-on experience.

    Excited you're here!
